Still Good Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

Still Good is a standalone iOS app for tracking the food in your fridge, freezer, and pantry so you can use it before it expires. We do not operate accounts, run analytics or advertising, or sell your data. Almost everything the app does happens on your iPhone.

Data Collection

Still Good stores the following to provide its features:

  • The food items you add (product names, categories, quantities, expiry dates, locations, and the optional spot where you keep an item), stored locally
  • Barcodes and printed expiry dates you scan, read by the camera and processed entirely on-device
  • App preferences (appearance, accent theme, language, and notification settings), stored locally
  • No personal information, names, email addresses, or contact details

Data Usage

Your data is used exclusively for:

  • Tracking your food and its expiry dates
  • Grouping items by what to use first (use soon, this week, later)
  • Sending you local reminders before items expire
  • Looking up a product name and category from a scanned barcode
  • Showing a home-screen widget of items expiring soon
  • Storing your preferences locally on your device

Data Storage

All data is stored:

  • Locally on your device only
  • No cloud storage or external servers operated by us
  • Shared with the Still Good home-screen widget through a private app group on your device
  • Data is deleted when you uninstall the app

Camera

Still Good uses the camera only when you choose to scan an item:

  • The camera reads barcodes and printed expiry dates
  • Scanning is processed on-device; photos are not saved or transmitted
  • You can control camera access anytime in Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera

Third-Party Services

One feature sends a request to a third-party service. Requests are made only when you scan a barcode, and we do not retain the data:

  • Open Food Facts: when you scan a barcode, the barcode number is sent to Open Food Facts to retrieve the product name and category. No personal information is sent. Product data © Open Food Facts contributors (ODbL)
  • Only the barcode is sent, no names, locations, or contact details
  • Open Food Facts has its own privacy policy

Your Rights (GDPR)

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Withdraw consent at any time by uninstalling the app
  • Access your stored data within the app and through device settings
  • Delete all data by uninstalling the app
  • Control camera and notification permissions through device settings

How to delete your data:

  • Data deletion: Uninstall the app

Children’s Privacy

Still Good is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. No personal information is collected from any users.

Notifications

Still Good may request notification permission to:

  • Remind you a set number of days before an item expires, at a time you choose
  • All reminders are scheduled on your device; we do not send push notifications from a server
  • You can disable notifications anytime in device settings

Data Retention

How long your data is kept:

  • Food items and preferences: Stored locally until you delete them or uninstall the app
